"I've been a governor at Bacon Garth since 2009 and am currently Chair of Governors and I am on both the Leadership and Management and Curriculum committees. Before I retired in 2016, I worked in the Education Inclusion Service in County Hall for 12 years. I supported schools in the East Riding across all phases, offering advice and support when a pupil was at risk of, or had been, excluded. My role also involved supporting pupils into a new setting after exclusion. I worked with a wide range of agencies and professionals during my time in the Education Inclusion Service and I believe that this experience has greatly helped me in my role as a governor. I thoroughly enjoy being part of the school community and always appreciate the welcome I receive when I go into class or join in an activity."

"I am currently the longest-serving governor, having started in 1998, and have many roles outside school. Having retired after 16 years as a local councillor, I am still an active volunteer with the Parish Council and several community groups. My professional work (when I have time for it!) is an informal type of teaching called heritage interpretation, specialising in industrial history. My main passions are windmills and food history. Within school, I enjoy working with maths groups in KS2."

“I am a community governor and am a representative from St Mary's Church, Cottingham. I have a keen interest in improving and maintaining education. For over 15 years, I worked in promoting careers to children and young people at Hull City Council, until recently when I went into IT implementation. I am a member of the Open the Book team who come into school regularly to tell bible stories.”

"I am happy to be a parent governor at Bacon Garth Primary School. I have lived in Cottingham for 10 years and it was this School (and all the good things I heard about it) that made me want to move to the area and send my daughters here. My youngest daughter still attends and is in Class 2. My nephew and niece also attend the school. I am an active member on the PTFA and enjoy volunteering to organise events to fundraise for the school. In my spare time, I love to travel with my family and I have a passion for design and photography."
Sadie Hartley

" I am delighted to have been appointed as a Parent Governor at Bacon Garth Primary School. Originally from Hull, I moved to Cottingham three years ago and quickly grew to love the strong sense of community that the village offers. My daughter attends Bacon Garth, and we are proud to be part of such a welcoming and supportive school community.
I have worked in education for 12 years and currently serve as Deputy Head of an alternative provision, where I lead on Inclusion and Safeguarding. I am excited to bring both my professional experience and my perspective as a parent to my role as a Governor, and I look forward to supporting the continued success of Bacon Garth Primary School."
